Meet Brice

Brice's family has been a part of this community for 70 years. His grandfather, Bob Sechrest, was the long-time basketball coach and athletic director at Mineral Area College. His grandmother, Eileen Sechrest, was a career elementary school teacher and administrator in the North County School District. His parents, Bob Sechrest, Jr. and Mary Sechrest, were local school teachers before starting their business, Ozark's Modern Insulation, in Park Hills. The family was actively involved in the local schools, sports programs, church, and other community organizations. Brice and his siblings, Lance Sechrest and Jill Wagner, continue to make the local community their home.

Brice grew up in Flat River and graduated from Central High School in Park Hills. He earned an Associate Degree from Mineral Area College, a Bachelor’s Degree from Southeast Missouri State University, and a Juris Doctorate from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale.

Judge Sechrest practiced law in Park Hills at Williams & Sechrest, P.C. for 12 years before becoming a judge. As an attorney, Brice gained extensive experience in criminal, civil, family, juvenile, and probate law, representing clients in St. Francois County, Washington County, Ste. Genevieve County, and Madison County courts. He was appointed by Governor Parson as Associate Circuit Judge for St. Francois County in 2021 and was elected to the same position in 2022. As a judge, he presides over daily criminal, civil and family law dockets. Brice has been actively involved in the development of the treatment court program in the 24th Judicial Circuit, which provides resources to people in the judicial system with mental health and substance use disorders.

Judge Sechrest has also been active in the community. He is a member of the First Baptist Church of Park Hills. Before becoming a judge, he served on the Board of Directors at Ozark’s Federal Savings and Loan. He also served on the boards of directors for the United Way of St. Francois County, the Mineral Area College Foundation, and the Farmington Regional Chamber of Commerce, and has been a member of other civic organizations including the Park Hills Lions Club. Brice is committed to serving the community through his work in the judicial system.

When he isn't working, Brice enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, hiking, and rock climbing.
